The 1980s: The 1980s were a transition period for Slye, which focused on the burgeoning computer industry, fixed installations, and audio and video presentation systems rather than on "Sound by Slye" work. During this time Slye performed a great deal of work for the federal government, the armed forces, and local governments while continuing with its work internationally with work in Saudi Arabia and the Philippines. In 1985 yet another family member, Mary Patricia Slye, joined the Slye team. The late 80s brought more corporate work to Slye, establishing many corporate relationships that continue today with companies like Gannett, Price Waterhouse, BDM, Arlington Hospital and the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
