The 1970s: The 1970s saw a continuation of the "Sound by Slye" and CCS work of the 1960s. Nineteen seventy-six was a banner year for Slye. In February, Slye found a permanent home at 3415 North Washington Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia and the second generation of the Slye family, Stephen D. Slye, joined the business. In addition to the many events with which Slye normally was involved, "Sound by Slye" also ran the audio portion of the 1976 Inauguration of President Jimmy Carter and the July 4, 1976 Bicentennial Celebration on the Mall. In 1977, Slye installed the audio and video system in the American College of Cardiologys Heart House. That learning center was highly innovative and was the forerunner of current high-tech classrooms and training centers. Further expanding its scope of work, Slye went global with a project in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1979, for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. Slye in the '80s.
